Financial Wishes
Establishing your financial wishes ahead of time can be a gift to your loved ones that can reduce confusion and even tension among your heirs, as well as easing their administrative burden.
Some examples of financial wishes to consider may be:
All of my bank accounts/investment accounts are listed out and known to my loved ones. A trusted person knows how to access my passwords and account numbers. Everything is gathered into one place. Beneficiaries are listed.
It is clear who will inherit the various portions of my estate, whether it be people or charities.
My estate will avoid as many taxes as possible.
My estate will be protected from nefarious people making claims to it.
My estate will be distributed to my heirs in a timely manner.
Directions for any tangible property, including real estate, will be clear.
Children and pets will be provided for.
Someone who I know and trust, chosen by me, will be distributing my assets instead of leaving it up to the government.
